Race - end season holiday race
Good day, I did my race with wisdom respecting what my injured body could give me.
This event was more for fun, to finish the season, planned since 2 years: The Dramathon. A dram is a unit of liquor (1/8 ounce), more specific, scotch whiskey in Scotland.
So, in the fall colorfull scenery I ran 1/2marathon along the Speyside river in front of scotch distilleries with great friends of us, celebrating our anniversary, what more to ask for? Various terrain it was and fantastic appreciation of that moment. Cool fresh, 10 degres and weather was sunny, the rainy sky hold on for the race duration. Lucky us!
I ran 5min/ walk 1 min. From 15k, harmstring start to screem according to lack of training (left knee injured since aug 3rd) limited the training. I focused on what I could do, swim and bike. Finished in 2:50, get the job done for the reward well deserved. Husband Greg and friends were waiting for me at the finish line and we celebrate, 8 of us, runners and scotch fan! So now, for 3rd time and last time I hope, I start the recovery and healling route. For now, a week of holiday to spend still in Scotland and will see then after. Next, post season and recover.
Here comes before, during and after the race.
