David Garcia- NYC Marathon 2019 - Recap
First Marathon ever. The organization seeded me with the crowd of 5:30 hr so I had to dodge people most part of the race. My goal was 4hr and finished at 3hr 57min 22 seg. As a competitive guy there are would ofs, could ofs, and what ifs. But I am mostly satisfied. Nutrition pre-race, during race an hydration plan was executed exactly as practiced. No GI issues, no potty stops and felt strong as a bull. Running gear was spot on. PR on my half at 1:52 also. I was set to finish on 3:45hr until mile 22hr but my muscle-skeletal system didn’t collaborate. I had to slow down and lost 12 minutes in the last 4 miles- somehow I was too tired mentally to push physically and keep dodging people. It was an obstacle race were I had run diagonally, jump to sidewalks, etc. Very non emotional. I am tired but 10x less tired than LP70.3 earlier this year. Duc in altum- Oceanside here I come. Cheers!

Way to push through, David! That is a very packed race, but an exciting one for your first. What an awesome result for how much of an obstacle course it was. How did the Baseline help to prepare you? We'd love to know what worked and did not for you. Also, do you have any pictures?
Huge congrats! Your Squad Team
