Listened to the podcast, read the article. For me I just keep thinking you could say “If you do happen to use Zwift, don’t use ERG mode”

    Is that true?

I personally like erg as it doesn't allow me a quick out if I want to quit on an interval as I will have to spend 30 sec or so getting the Kickr back into ERG if I stop.  If I am not feeling it on a particular day I just drop the % to something obtainable.  Some days you have it some days you don't.  You cant get hung up on it (I used to).  Your body is a great regulator.

Yes I am a technology fan.  BUT, I have appreciated the freedom to learn the intent of the workout for that day, especially with the run.  So now when I get the workout, I first read through the workout intent before I immediately jump to the workout itself.  I still structure the workout into my AppleWatch BUT instead of hitting a target pace or heart rate I will set it to instruct me on the intent and not have a zone to follow.  Basically a timed workout that describes the intent not the target.   I still tend to overcook myself on Zone 2 so always checking myself and the heart rate to make sure I'm not overdoing it.   Thanks for the confidence to train with intent!
