Donna Half Marathon
I was very pleased with my run yesterday. It seemed like everything just worked out right. I set myself a reasonable goal 1:55 because I ran a 5K the week before at 25 min. So I kept really relaxed about my goal. I think taking the pressure off myself to go for a PR really helped me. PR is 1:48 but I feel my times are not there. So I just wanted to run and see what happened. I remember last year I spoke to Matt Hurley about an running a half and he told me to race the back end of the half and I did but it was more effort last year and my time was a 2:02. So I was so pleased this year I really felt like I could do that. I got into a comfortable pace and was able to push at the end. My fastest mile was my last one 8:26 and I was smiling until the end. I really felt like I was in control of everything I was feeling. I took water and gradually had my gel in small sips. I have been with Purple Patch since May of 2018 and I have been very successful. But it really takes a while for the puzzle to come together. My form is soooo much better than it was. I love to see my pictures and I am pushing off with the big toe and not hunched over like before. After a year and a half of all the cues and education is finally drilled into my brain. So thank you for the education. I know hope I can run as well after I get off the bike on my next race. But for now I am glowing. Thanks again to purple patch for giving me the confidence back.

Gineth,
So amazing! From WC in Nice to now this wonderful performance. Your last mile was your fastest! What a well-run race. Knowing you have dialed in your form and dived into the education is wonderful. We are proud to support you, Gineth. I loved our coaching consult last year and meeting you in Nice! Your enthusiasm and excitement are contagious. Keep that spirit up. Many amazing things are yet to come for you!
Cheers,
Liz and the PP team
P.s. do you have a picture? We love seeing them!
