Las Olas International Distance Tri
First race of the season Done. 3rd Place AG
Not ideal conditions since it was super windy and they shorten the swim. The swim was chaotic because no buoys were out. We were told to swim close to the edge but we were pushed to the shore so it was a run/swim kind of deal. The bike was very windy and I was extra cautious because of it and because this course can get very crowded. I had a negative split on the run, so that was good. I feel that my form is getting better and will continue to work on it. I was following #1 lady but I know her and she is very fast. Got discouraged to be passed by another lady in my age group but still managed to push. I really did not feel 'fit and fresh" for this race. Not because of the training but I had a trip out of town and did a run/swim clinic that tired me. So I was surprised I was able to push. So on to the next race. Moving on to my 70.3 Haines City in 4 weeks. Thank you Purple Patch coaches for your guidance. You are all the BEST!!!

Gineth, thanks for sharing your great story. What an adorable photo! The day sounds like it was challenging with the windy swim and no buoys. And you look pretty petite so I'm guessing that wind challenged you on the bike. Way to stick to it. Great job on that negative run! split! How excellent that you went in not feeling at the top of Fit and Fresh shape but still stayed the course and executed well. And, looking at your smile, you look like you really enjoyed the day. Nice job Gineth! We look forward to hearing about the rest of your season.
